The Chemical Reaction

The Chemical Reaction of a daith piercing or pre-test at
Daith Medical Ltd (daith.com)
.

This therapy is holistic, it deals with you and your neurological issues via the stimulation of nerve endings in the daith region. Once the position is located and the piercing(s) is done, the body will calm by releasing acetylcholine.

..
The chemical reaction that is triggered, quite often immediately from either the piercing or my testing technique is quite extraordinary. There are not many people that know this is even possible yet time after time I see it happen. There are also many leading migraine Doctors and Neurologists who have never seen this and probably never will, there is plenty who say this is a acupuncture point or a placebo effect. I am very open to outside research and an keen to push this in the direction of medical trials.
There are different types of responders from immediate responders to those who take several mins of waiting. On occasions there may be little or no response and interestingly this does not mean there will be no reaction to the piercing, it does however mean it is more difficult to pinpoint the best point of stimulation.
These are quite a few indicators that the initial reaction has something to do with the release of acetylcholine. This chemical prompts other chemicals like oxytocin and vasopressin to be secreted. Your heart rate slows, and you feel calm and relaxed with an increased ability to bond with others, your neck and shoulders will relax.

Acetylcholine (ACh) :

The main neurotransmitter or the parasympathetic nervous system. This is known to influence behaviors. Low levels have been linked to learning and memory impairments and brain disorders including dementia and Alzheimers. There are clinical studies that suggest it plays an important part in mood regulation.

Oxytocin & Vasopressin (AVP) :

Hormone and a neurotransmitters associated with empathy, trust, sexual activity, and relationship-building. Increased levels are though to have benefits in treating conditions such as depression and anxiety. It is produced in the hypothalamus, a part of the brain and released via the posterior pituitary gland.

Oxytocin has an important role in simulating uterine contractions and milk let down after birth whilst Vasopressin helps regulate urine concentration at the level of the kidneys.

Both are now understood to deal or mediate social behavior.
